-a- Defeated Jack Brisco in the finals of a tournament for the vacant title. Original title was vacated sometime in the 50's or 60's with Ray Stevens defeating Harry Smith on November 21, 1956.

-c- Defeated Buddy Austin in the finals of a tournament for the vacant belt as the Masked Texan. He unmasked immediatly after the match.

-e- Defeated Johnny Walker in the finals of a tournament for the vacant title; vacated in September 1972 after Jones trys to retire the belt.

-i- Title becomes in active in 1982.

-j- Defeated Jerry Grey in the finals of a tournament for the revived title; belt abandoned in February 1987.
